RECRUITMENT OF ASSISTANT COACH for
2026 U-series China National Youth Ice Hockey Championship – Men’s U14
Established in 1980, Hong Kong, China Ice Hockey Association Limited (HKCIHA) is the national sports association for ice hockey in Hong Kong. HKCIHA is a registered full member with International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) and the associate member of Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China.
Overview
We are looking for Assistant Coach for 2026 U-series China National Ice Youth Hockey Championship- Men’s U14. Details for the events are below.

Positions: Assistant Coach Pay Rate: HK$1,300/per day |
Responsibilities
Reporting to the head coach, the assistant coach will work with the Head Coach & Team Manager during the 2026 U-series China National Ice Youth Hockey Championship- Men’s U14. Duties include but are not limited to:-
Pre-Game and Warm-Up Duties
- Supervise warm-ups: Oversee on-ice player routines and ensure timing and drills run smoothly.
- Relay scouting reports: Review opponent tendencies and key player matchups with the staff.
- Check equipment: Confirm player gear, pucks, and water supplies are ready before puck drop.
In-Game Bench Management
- Control line changes: Track forward lines and defensive pairings to maintain optimal fresh legs on the ice.
- Manage special teams: Direct specific units like the power play or penalty kill as assigned by the head coach.
- Monitor player performance: Act as an extra set of eyes to spot fatigue, positional errors, or tactical breakdowns.
Intermission and Adjustments
- Communicate feedback: Deliver targeted, one-on-one corrections to individual players.
- Reinforce strategy: Support the head coach's intermission message by highlighting tactical shifts for the next period.
- Track statistics: Note face-off wins/losses, scoring chances, or penalties to evaluate period success
Requirements
- Strong hockey background in playing, coaching, evaluating
- Strong interest and commitment to youth development
- Ability to communicate on and off-ice requirement to players
- Integrity – Strong mentorship, leadership, disciplinary skill
- Prefer candidates who currently live in Hong Kong and hold an HKID card, with a valid passport (at least 6 months remaining).
- Must have a visa to travel to China (Mainland), i.e., a Mainland Travel Permit or a valid China visa.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
